Abstract

Aviation SEO

With hundreds of hours of research under our belts and dozens of connections with industry-leaders forged, we are effectively bridging the gaps for companies in aviation.

In an effort to better understand the complexities of the aviation supply chain, we spoke with industry leaders and came away with five key components large manufacturers look for when sourcing vendors. From the likes of Gulfstream, Boeing, Delta, and Southwest – to companies with ten employees; our research encompasses every aspect of the supply chain and every possible relationship.

Ultimately we wanted to know the buying process for companies sourcing vendors for parts, manufacturing, and other various goods and services within aviation.

Take-Aways

1.

Referrals

Referrals are #1 for many decision makers when seeking a new vendor. These are effective in getting your company in the door, but, unfortunately – does not ensure results. From what we’ve found relying on a single relationship won’t always guarantee a positive outcome – many vendor sourcing decisions are made in the form of a committee, and rely heavily on other factors to limit bias.

3.

Website

The quality of your site plays a large role in how decision makers view your company. When these individuals stumble upon a website that is dated and of poor quality, they are less likely to spend time on the site and reach out for vendor sourcing. A professional, up to date website portrays a positive brand image and shows your potential clients that you care about their experience. This ultimately establishes trust and gives them a peek into what the rest of your organization is like.

Referrals

The Aviation Industry is very referral-based, which is great to have in a sector that requires a lot of trust and reputability within its supply chain to safely transport millions of people around the world. However, in this day and age,  companies that rely solely on referrals are missing out on ever-evolving marketing strategies that could get them in front of potential clients that are actively searching for them.

Google Search

When key decision makers or committees have exhausted their referral base they will oftentimes do a little digging through various platforms to discover new vendors or suppliers. The main search engine they use is Google. This means it’s more important now than ever for companies like yours to show up on the first page of Google because 90% of clicks happen on the first page.

Website

So you have a website, awesome! You showed up on the first page of Google when that Purchasing Manager searched for the product or service that your company offers, you’re on a roll! Now you need to think about how to most effectively communicate why your company is better than your competition – because you know they’re scoping them out too. Our market research has shown that professionals in the aviation field have a much higher probability of contacting you if your website is full of high quality content, and clearly demonstrates your process.

Process

Whether you like it or not, your website often makes the first impression for your company. With high quality modern websites at the forefront of digital marketing, your website has to build as much value as it can as effectively as possible. Our research has shown that there is tremendous value in creating professional videos that show exactly how you do what you do. When you convey what it looks and feels like to work with your company in a crystal clear manner right off the bat, you’re making it much easier for your potential customer to feel comfortable filling out your contact form or picking up the phone.

Content

This probably isn’t the first time you’ve been told how important it is to have high quality content on your website – we get it. But here’s a little insight to help you understand exactly what “high quality content” means. Leave the stock photos in 2007. People expect a more personable browsing experience in 2019. It is becoming more and more common to have a professional content creator capture your team and your facility for display on your website. It’s also important to create emotion with your content. If you have a fun, energetic team, capture that. If you use innovative technology, capture that. You just expanded your building? You guessed it… Capture that too
